Mornings are cool in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, if not downright cold. Daytime temperatures can soar to a high of 80°F/27°C.
Nights are usually cool, and temperatures drop below freezing at higher elevations.
Depending on the year, winter can last into early June.
Thunderstorms are common in the afternoons during the summer and can snow any month of the year.
We recommend always being prepared with a warm jacket, layered clothing, and rain gear.

A good sense of adventure and awe, personal snacks, a phone charger, sunglasses, sun hat, sunscreen, prescription medications, and a day pack with enough capacity to carry all the above.
We also encourage you to bring reusable water bottles to help reduce our environmental impact in the parks.
Finally, please be sure to pack your patience and expect to experience periodic delays for road construction, traffic congestion, migrating wildlife, and unforeseen medical emergencies and circumstances.

We love kids in this age range. All of our guides have specialized training with respect to managing youth.
Be sure to let us know if you need a booster seat or want us to rent one for you.

Prices include sales tax, Park entry fees, and breakfast and/or lunch. Prices do not include guide gratuity (we suggest 15%).

I booked a tour and need to reschedule or cancel. What do I do?
To cancel your reservation, please email us directly ([email protected]). If we receive your cancellation 72 hours before the start of the tour, you can expect a full refund. If it is canceled less than 72 hours before the start of the tour, no refund will be provided.
We understand there are situations beyond people’s control, such as air travel delays, traffic, etc. We will accommodate to allow people to move their reservations if possible.
We cannot refund the sales taxes or credit card processing fees. Obsidian Expeditions reserves the right to cancel or move the tour to another time and date.
